Study of Ruth
  Introduction / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4

Introduction (top)

Message: The book of Ruth is named after its heroine, a Moabitess who, after the death of her husband, journeyed to Bethlehem with her widowed, mother-in-law. The book gives us an amazing piece of history in that the ancestry of David and thereby Jesus was not purely Jewish! The greatest theme is that God's purpose always works out through all the joys and tragedies of life. Famine, death, loneliness, and voluntary exile combine to fulfill the purpose of God. Nothing can block the achievement of Divine Will.
